我們人生第一件大事，就是能皈依三寶。你皈依三寶這件事，要把它重視一點，不要那麼輕舉妄動。第一，你要選擇一個真正的明眼善知識來皈依，以後有什麼不懂的道理，都可以得到正確的指導、正確的開示悟入佛之知見；不要投到旁門左道，聽那個邪師說法。
In our life, the number one major event is to be able to take refuge with the triple jewel. One must regard this event of taking refuge with the triple jewel to be utmost important and do not treat it casually. First of all, one must choose a truly good knowing advisor to take refuge with. If there are matters that one do not understand, one can obtain proper guidance, proper views that will lead one to Buddhahood. Do not go to the externalist and listen to deviant teacher’s teachings.
楞嚴經四種清淨明誨淺釋
Commentary on the Four Clear and Unalterable Instructions on Purity in the Shurangama Sutra:
楞嚴經裡的四種清淨明誨：斷淫、斷殺、斷偷、斷妄，是息息相關的。若犯淫戒，就容易犯殺戒，也容易犯偷戒、妄語戒。因此犯淫戒，是殺盜妄都包括了。所以，分而言之是四種，合而言之是一體也。
There are four clear and unalterable instructions on purity mentioned in the Shurangama Sutra: One must cut off lust, one must cut off killing, one must cut off stealing and one must cut off false speech. They are all inter-related. If you have broken the lust precept, then it is easy to break the killing precept, as well as the stealing and false speech precepts. So, if one breaks the lust precept, it also includes breaking the killing, stealing and false speech precepts. Therefore, distinctively speaking they are four, but collectively speaking they are just one body.
法界佛教總會三大宗旨、六大條款
三大宗旨：凍死不攀緣，餓死不化緣，窮死不求緣；
隨緣不變，不變隨緣，抱定我們三大宗旨。
捨命為佛事，造命為本事，正命為僧事；
即事明理，明理即事，推行祖師一脈心傳。
The Three Great Principles adopted by the monastic and serious cultivators of the Dharma Realm Buddhist Association (DRBA) :
Freezing, we do not scheme.
Starving, we do not beg.
Dying of poverty, we ask for nothing.
According with conditions, we do not change.
Not changing, we according with conditions.
We adhere firmly to our three great principles.
We renounce our lives to do the Buddha’s work.
We take the responsibility to mold our own destinies.
We rectify our lives to fulfill the Sanghan’s role.
Encountering specific matters, we understand the principles.
Understanding the principles, we apply them in specific matters.
We carry on the single pulse of the Patriarch’s mind-transmission.
六大條款：不爭、不貪、不求、不自私、不自利、不打妄語。
The Six Guidelines:
No fighting, no greed, no seeking, no selfishness, no pursuing personal advantage, and no lying.
